Here's my problem A lot will depend on how you want to play a survival horror game, Outlast gives you no defensive options at all! Initially you will think it's a good game mechanic to increase the tension but it's not for a couple of reasons:. I've now finished the game (and the Whistleblower add-on) and it is good, I would have liked it to be more spooky rather than just a horror/gore fest, something to make your skin crawl along the Silent Hill lines but nevertheless it does make you jump on occasion. I took my time picking Outlast, I wanted a good, scary game to play through and all the reviews sent me to Amazon to order it.
